Disney or Universal to Port Canaveral: Getting to Your Cruise

Spending a few days at Disney or Universal before your cruise? How far the port is, when to leave for your boarding time, and how to get there with all your luggage.

Port Canaveral is about 60 to 70 miles from Walt Disney World and about 53 to 60 miles from Universal Orlando. Disney's buses don't go to the port, and the port requires vehicle-for-hire trips to be pre-arranged and pre-paid, so book a private ride before you travel. Your driver picks you up at your hotel and drops you at your cruise terminal.

When to leave

Work back from the boarding time your cruise line gives you. The drive from the parks is longer than the drive from MCO, so allow for it and add a cushion for traffic. We build buffer time into every cruise-day schedule and plan your pickup around your boarding time.

Find your terminal

Port Canaveral has seven cruise terminals. Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Disney Cruise Line, MSC, Princess, Celebrity and Norwegian all sail from the port. Your cruise line tells you which terminal your ship uses; tell us your cruise line and ship when you book.
